Easy & Normal Tuna Melt Recipe

When looking for cheap meal ideas, finding something we might call “normal” can be difficult. Personally, I am no chef so when recipes call for ingredients like:

  • Celtic Sea Salt
  • Wasabi
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Dry orzo
  • Lemon wedges
  • Lemon zest

I honestly clam up and try to find an easier recipe with ingredients I probably already have.

Yes, I know what these ingredients are! I just don’t cook with certain things, although I am experimenting with more spices! Anyway here is the recipe for an easy tuna melt:

How to make tuna melts taste delicious on a budget, you can't beat a tuna melt!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread, English muffins or biscuits
  • 1/3 cup of mayo
  • Two 6-ounce cans white meat tuna packed in water, drained
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (Any cheese)

Instructions

    1. Set the rack about 4 to 5 inches from the heat source. Preheat broiler.

    2. Mix the mayo, tuna and salt & pepper together in a bowl.

    3. Lay the bread evenly spread on a non stick sheet pan.

    4. Butter the bread (optional).

    5. Pour tuna mixture on the slices of bread.

    6. Add the shredded Mozzarella cheese on top.

    7. Put in the oven for 3-5 mins until tops are golden brown. *Watch oven carefully as broiler is very high heat*

    8. Remove from oven and serve!

Notes

Add herbs or spices of your choice to spice it up.
