Helpful Tips for Crockpot Lasagna

  • Use frozen or refrigerated ravioli: Either works well! If using frozen, no need to thaw—just add a little extra cooking time if needed.
  • Customize the meat: Swap Italian sausage with ground beef, turkey, or a plant-based alternative for a different flavor or to fit dietary needs.
  • Layering tip: Be sure to spread the sauce evenly between layers to prevent dry spots and help everything cook evenly.
  • Ricotta swap: If you’re not a fan of ricotta, cottage cheese is a great substitute that still gives a creamy texture.
  • Add veggies: Want to boost the nutrition? Layer in spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini between the ravioli and sauce.
  • Storage: Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 3–4 days and reheat beautifully. This dish also freezes well—just let it cool completely before wrapping and storing.
  • Avoid overcooking: Crockpot temps can vary. If cooking on high, check around the 3.5-hour mark to prevent the edges from getting too crispy or dry.
