Welcome to my first blog income report!
I am actually very excited to share this because reading other people’s income reports really helped keep me motivated. I have been blogging for 3 years!

To be honest I never treated this blog as a full-time job, I spent the first year learning and tons of trial and error! In the second and most of the third year, I basically treated it as a hobby that made me some extra income.
I never made enough to justify writing an income report until now! I recently went all in after one of my blog posts went viral on Pinterest and I had enough traffic to apply to Mediavine! < should be one of your main goals as a new blogger!

To be clear I am not writing this to brag about how much I am making every month from my blog, what I hope is that you can learn from this and start your own blog and have the motivation to make it a success and be your own boss.

Since starting my blog I have been able to quit my job (recently) and stay home with my kids! I am forever grateful for other bloggers who shared their income reports, without them I know I would have thrown in the towel long ago!
Starting a blog is a lot of work, it is not a get-rich-quick or even a viable way to make money fast. Some do make a killing in their first few months but those are mostly second or third blogs people have started.

Do not expect to make money within your first year, this is why I recommend purchasing hosting for a year so that you can give your blog a chance. If you do make money then it will be a bonus, but most do not make any money right off.
Let’s look at my income for January 2020
I made a total of $518.06 from my blog in January 2020! – Please note this is in Canadian Dollars.
Affiliate Income – $96.66
- Shareasale – $70.89
- Adbloom – $20.59
- $5 Dollar meal plan – $5.18
Ad Income – $421.40 ($317.05)
Total = $518.06
As you can see right now my ad income is really ahead of my affiliate earnings. One of my goals for next month is to raise my affiliate income.
My traffic has been hovering around the high 20’s for a few months now, another goal is to grow that by at least another 10k in February.

Traffic for the month of January
My traffic has gradually been going up, it did tank around Christmas mostly due to me not having any seasonal content. However, January is a great month for my Niche so my traffic went back up and I got into Mediavine!
I didn’t realize just how high my traffic was for the month (since stated above I said my traffic was in the 20s). Getting 29k page-views per month is pretty amazing!
I struggled to get traffic for about 2 years always hovering around 5k page views per month.
Pinterest being my top traffic source was all thanks to Ana’s ebook which I think now (2024) it is unavailable. However, I am now into Carly’s paid Pinterest group membership. Which I HIGHLY recommend!
Happy to say I am now at 620k avg monthly viewers on Pinterest!
Goals for February
*Get 40,000 monthly page-views.
*Raise my affiliate income.
*Work on SEO.
I am not going to go too crazy for my goals I have learned less is more over the years.
