When I was 15 years old I got a job working at a grocery store, it was great to finally earn some money I could spend on whatever I’d like. However, I missed out on a lot of fun weekends and evenings with my friends because I had to work.
I wish there were as many online gigs for 13 year olds and up when I was that age as there is now!
Now you don’t have to sacrifice every weekend in order to make money at a job.
This is why this article will only focus on ways for teens to make money online!

Did you know you can earn money on Swagbucks just by doing everyday things such as surfing the web or playing online games? Yah, neither did I for the longest time!
Swagbucks is a free online service open to anyone 13 years of age or older
You can sign up for Swagbucks for free here and claim a $5 signup bonus!
The best part about this company is they offer low payout thresholds, you can cash out at just $3 for paypal money or a gift card!
Pro tip: Set aside some time everyday to earn points on Swagbucks, that way you stay organized and don’t miss out!

How it works: Sign up for free using a valid email address, Swagbucks will then send you a confirmation email (be sure to click the link in the email to verify your account).
Login to your new Swagbucks account, at the very top you will see a web search bar similar to google, this is where you should do your daily searches to earn points.
To play games and earn points, scroll down to where it says “play games and earn”, choose your game and start cashing in.

You read that right, all you need to do to make some money is share your personal opinions on Survey Junkie!
With over 10 million members, Survey Junkie is one of the most legit survey companies out there, they also boast a 4.5/5 score on trust pilot!
Members must be 13 or older and reside in the United States (except California), Canada, or Australia.
Pro tip: I always suggest opening a new email address for your online gigs, they will send you tons of emails of possible surveys you qualify for, so be prepared!
Survey Junkie is free to join, all you need is a valid email address and a way to get paid.
I suggest opening a paypal account, however you will need your parents permission as they will have to open one on your behalf.
How it works: Once you sign up you will login to your account, fill out your profile to earn points right off the bat!
This will also include a short survey so that Survey Junkie can match you with the best surveys for you. You can always update these by clicking on “Get Higher Paying Surveys”.
Once that is complete you will see all your surveys to your right, which includes how many points and the estimated time it takes to complete.
The minimum cash out is only $5 and if you don’t want to exchange for paypal money then you can also exchange for gift cards!

Do you have any special skills? You might be able to sell on Fiverr!
This Site is offered and available to users who are 13 years of age or older.
To sell on Fiverr you don’t need anything except an email address and a way to get paid (again Paypal is the best option).
Some popular gigs for teens to sell are:
- Voice overs: many people need a young person’s voice for certain projects.
- Graphic design: Tons of people need help with graphics.
- Video editing: Another good one if it is something you can do.
- Offering travel advice for your city / town.
- Helping people with gaming (coaching, setting up a Livestream on twitch, leveling services, even just playing with people)
My suggestion is to browse some gigs that are already popular and making money, if you are able to do them, create your own!

It does cost some to start, however the income potential is massive!

The most popular way to make money online in high school would be using survey sites. Survey Junkie OR Swagbucks are the most commonly used, however there are a few more hidden gems.
Yup, you can also make some extra cash doing Surveys on Swagbucks.
Same as above all you need is an email address to sign up and start taking those surveys.
You will earn more points completing the surveys then you would playing games or surfing the web on Swagbucks. However, combining all three you should see your points go up relatively fast!
