So, How Much Can You Make Blogging?
The sky’s the limit when it comes to how much you can make blogging, everyone is different and so we all make money at our own pace. What really gave me inspiration and the proof I needed that blogging is worth it, was reading other bloggers income reports.
Pin This:
Michelle at Making Sense of Cents posts her Income Reports Monthly, they date back a few years so you can see her early reports if you wanted. Here is her most recent where she made $110,284 in August! I really love how she shows exactly where she made her money.
Chelsea at Her Paper Route is another I love to follow, as well as her blog has a ton of amazing information. Here is her most recent income report from June where she made $12,972. She also shares in a post here how she sold her beauty blog for $50,000!
With that being said welcome to my very first income report!
Since I am in the Finance Niche with focus on budgeting and frugal living I am going to be doing my income reports a bit different then most. Here is a run down of exactly what you will be able to find on my Income Reports:
- How much I made from my blog. Includes affiliates, sponsorship’s and ad revenue.
- How much I made from my side hustles.
- How much I have saved. This includes any apps or cashback sites.
I will also be including my goals for the next month and if I reached my past goals, this will include all my blog related numbers so you can see exactly how much traffic I have VS income. Also a bunch more blogging related information you will enjoy, I always learn so much from reading income reports so I am hoping to convey that to my readers.

Blog Income Report September 2018: Here’s How I Made $102.43
My goals for September
To be honest I didn’t set many goals, I have had this blog since January 2018 but haven’t actually put much time and effort into it. Well that is about to change! I decided in order to teach others how to blog I should make this blog a success and give myself some passive income. My main calling is to help others become successful bloggers and live their dream life. However, I do love blogging so I will never fully quit blogging myself.
- Change the look of my blog and theme.
- Make a plan for next month.
Those were my main goals and I definitely surpassed them, I changed my theme to make my blog look more professional yet still cute. I love studio press themes for that purpose, they are very newbie friendly.
Blogging as a career: You can have it all too!
If my income report inspires you at all I hope you consider blogging as a career, it really is amazing!
I love being able to spend time with kids and work from home (my dream since I was 19 years old)! Don’t get me wrong, I loved my job also, working with the elderly was never my plan but it happened and I am glad it did, I learned a lot from them. Again that is the best part of having your own blog you can still work part time or even full time and STILL make blogging a success.
If this sounds like something you would like you can read a bit more about starting your own blog here.

Blog Income Report: Blogging
- Ads Media.net – .13 cents
- Affiliate Income- $0
Traffic:
Sessions were 868, and page views were 1,250. I am not disappointed in those numbers since this is with zero promoting other than manual pinning a bit on Pinterest using Carly’s pinning strategies.
My goal for next month is to read the updated version of Carly’s ebook which I love that she updates it regularly since Pinterest is always changing.
Domain Authority (DA)
My DA right now is 16, I am not sure what it was before so I am unable to compare this month. Next month I will be able to and I’m hoping it goes up since I will be focusing on SEO much of next month.
Goals for next month:
- Get my sessions to 2,000.
- Get approved to some more relevant affiliates.
- Make at least $20.
- Step up my Pinterest game.
- Write 4 posts with perfect SEO.
Blog Income Report: Side Hustles
I have really enjoyed my side hustles, one alone helped me pay for my blog hosting and theme, you can read about that here.
I have decided to slack a bit on these to focus more attention on my blog, with 2 kids I just don’t have a ton of time for both. So you are going to see a big dip in income on these.
- Fiverr- $18 (I used to bring in at least $200 a month using this, read about how here).
- Swagbucks- $7.30
- Selling used items- $55 (Did some fall clean up, still not finished).
Blog Income Report: Savings
- PC Points card- $22 – I earned 22,000 points from remembering to download my offers weekly and grocery shopping where accepted. This equals to $22 so I saved that amount.
- Ebates- $0 – I haven’t shopped online yet but I will be soon and will be writing a post about ebates.
*Please note the savings do not include what I save from applying any Frugal Living tips and/or budgeting tips.*
